Dr. Jeffrey N . Bruce, Edgar M. Housepian Professor of Neurological Surgery and Director of the Bartoli Brain Tumor Research Laboratory, was another of our neurosurgeons to speak at the recent Annual Scientific Meeting of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons (AANS).
At a breakout session of the AANS/CNS* Tumor Section, Dr. Bruce gave a presentation on Pineal Region Tumors. These are a mix of tumor types in a tiny gland (the pineal gland) at the back of the base of the brain.
Dr. Bruce was also a panelist at a seminar titled, The Spectrum of Adjuvant Therapy For Brain Tumors. In this course, Dr. Bruce and colleagues reviewed current standards of care and many cutting edge treatment options including use of the body’s own immune system to fight brain cancer.
